If you’re ever stumped for ideas, or just don’t know where to start, check out this unique Rockford, Michigan engagement session! M and R decided to do something a little different than I’ve ever done before, and I’m so freaking happy they did! They chose a Hobbit Hole rental in Rockford, Michigan that was just the cutest!
Just like me, M is a huge Lord of the Rings fan. So when they found this rental for the weekend, we knew we just had to photograph here! When you walk up, it genuinely looks like a hobbit hole from the movies! And it’s located in the woods, so it’s incredibly peaceful. You take about a mile walk or so through the woods from the parking lot, and it’s just one of the most relaxing walks.
Another way that R and M made this engagement session unique to them was that they brought a game with them to play while I was photographing them! And in true LOTR fandom fashion, the game was Lord of the Rings: Trivial Pursuit. And I was here for it!
Not only did we all get to test our Tolkien knowledge, but it helped create a relaxed environment for M and R to be photographed in. And that’s always the goal. When you’re relaxed, you allow yourself to open up and have some fun. And when you’re having fun, you’re going to love your photos even that much more.
After being inside for so long, we decided to head outside and photograph around the hobbit hole and also took a short walk through the woods. Getting a change of scenery is always great because not only does it add variety to your session, it’s just fun to do different things!
So, if you enjoy cozy sessions, Lord of the Rings themes, or walks through the woods, you’re going to enjoy these photos!
