This proposal at Mission Point Lighthouse in Traverse City, Michigan was an absolute blast, and so stinkin meaningful! Whenever S was in town for a race, she always made it point to make a pit stop at the lighthouse. So it definitely became a tradition throughout the years. Even after races, she would come and hang out by the lake and relax. And who wouldn’t want to? Lake Michigan is freaking gorgeous, no matter where you are!

So like many proposals, M was the one to reach out to me about photographing his proposal to S! Throughout their relationship, they had spent alot of time together in Traverse City, and even at the Mission Point Lighthouse, so it was a no-brainer that that would be where M proposed.

As the day got closer, we had no idea what the weather was going to be like. Every time I’ve been to the lighthouse in the past, it’s been cold and cloudy and kind of dreary. But that WAS NOT what we got on proposal day! When I got to the parking lot, I knew I needed to shed a few layers before leaving the car because it was SO WARM! And not only was it a warm day, the sun was out! M and S had the most beautifully sunny, warm day you could have ever asked for!

Needless to say, S was surprised that M proposed right then and there! It’s always so fun to see the look of surprise on someone’s face when the one they love is able to surprise them in such a special way. Talking to them while we took photos and learning more about them and their relationship, it’s easy to see how perfectly they fit together.

I’m so freaking excited for these two amazing people to spend the rest of their lives together!
