These Jam Handy wedding portraits with David and Layla were an absolute dream! If you’re wondering if Jam Handy is the right wedding venue for you? Wonder no more!

This gorgeous venue is located in downtown Detroit, Michigan. When you walk in, you’re met with this gorgeous wide open space that’s industrial, yet modern all at the same time. The light coming in from the the windows on the main floor and the upper floor light up the room beautifully.

The area out back in the alley? You don’t always think, “Let’s go to the alley for some wedding photos!” But in this case, YOU DO! As soon as you walk out there, you’re met with green branches and vines that just cascade over the whole alley creating a canopy to stand under. It’s insanely beautiful! And not something you ever expect. Especially for a more modern, industrial style building.

Photographing David and Layla in this gorgeous Detroit wedding venue was so stinkin easy. To be fair, I have photographed these two before. And every time, it’s always an easy, ridiculously fun experience.

I’ve known Layla since college. We had an art class together. And let’s be real, she’s always been a gem of a human being. That was something that has always drawn me to her. And David? He’s pretty much the same. Super engaging, kind, and just a joy to be around. Put them together and you’ve got a power couple who loves Jesus and loves people. You really can’t ask for more than that.

So when I was looking for people to model for this shoot and help bring the vision to life, I knew I needed to ask them.
