Scott and Stacey’s Silver Lake Sand Dunes maternity session was a freaking golden hour dream! I knew having Scott drive us around was perfect. Especially with how far along Stacey was at the time. AND! It just made getting from spot to spot that much easier!

Having their maternity session at the dunes was a no-brainer for Stacey and Scott. Stacey’s family had been going to Silver Lake Sand Dunes every year since Stacey was born. And probably even long before that! So these sand dunes mean a lot to Stacey. And then when she met Scott and he became part of the family, he just fit right in!

I also couldn’t pass up the opportunity to actually have their truck in some of the photos. I mean, if you’re going to bring a truck to the dunes, you have to have your photos taken with it! I just love that it also gives all of us a glimpse into their lives. We all know baby’s going to grow up coming to these sand dunes, and it’s going to be as big of a part of him and his life as it was with his parents! I seriously love watching traditions like that be passed down from generation to generation. 

As I get older, and as I’m in this business year after year, I’m really feeling a soft spot for maternities. I get to combine my love of working with couples, and add in a certain depth of intimacy that only comes with this progression in life. And to be chosen to capture these moments, it’s an absolute honor. I seriously can’t wait for more of my couples to become parents. I love being able to witness these different transitions in life. And I can’t wait for many more in the future!
