Petoskey Lakeside Intimate Wedding

Cora and Mitch’s Petoskey lakeside intimate wedding was a day to remember! Cora has been one of my best friends since college, and to be able to photograph her get married was amazing!

One part about Cora and Mitch’s story that I just love is that they have actually known each other since they were kids. They dated for a little bit in high school, went to prom together. But life took them in separate directions for a little while after high school. Mitch went to college and built a life in Petoskey. After college, Cora moved to New York and worked as a teacher for years. And then life took Cora back to Petoskey where she reconnected with Mitch, and the rest is history!

The day for Cora began at the home that she shares with Mitch. All the ladies spent an easy morning together getting ready while Mitch and his guys got ready at Mitch’s brother’s house. And then when it came time for their first look, we switched gears a little and decided to do their first look in their back yard. They have a beautiful property that we just had to use. And it just made the day flow a little smoother for everyone.

After their first look and some portraits, we made our way to the park overlooking Lake Michigan where their friends and family gathered for their ceremony. It ended up being the most beautiful sunny day! We seriously couldn’t have asked for anything better!

After the ceremony, we followed Mitch and Cora and the wedding party over to a local waterfall for wedding party photos and more couple’s portraits. Also, full disclosure, I had no idea that Petoskey had a waterfall! All the different spots Cora and Mitch’s wedding day included are so different, and so freaking beautiful!

For dinner and reception events, we headed over to Palette Bistro. It was honestly such a beautifully intimate space overlooking the water. It really was the perfect spot to end their wedding day.

Cora and Mitch have seen each other through so many parts of life, and also have experienced so much life separately. But I’m so insanely thrilled that these two found their way back to each other. It’s amazing to see the way Mitch loves Cora, and I couldn’t ask for anything more for one of my favorite people in the world.

Cora, Mitch,
I can’t even begin to tell you how freaking honored I am that I was able to photograph your wedding! I love you both so much, and I can’t wait for more adventures together!
