Grosse Point Michigan Wedding

Dave and Kari’s Grosse Point wedding was an absolutely amazing day full of family, and so much love! We started at a family friend’s home right in town, and it was the perfect spot for Kari and her ladies to spend time together getting ready.

After everyone was ready and we had some wedding party portraits under our belts, we headed down to Detroit to the Iroquois Avenue Christ Lutheran Church for the ceremony. Watching Dave see Kari for the first time coming down the aisle towards him was such a special moment. Seeing the look on a groom’s face the first time they see their bride, and even if they have already seen her, there’s something so insanely beautiful about it. It’s one of so many moments during the day where his love for her is on full display. And it’s hands down one of my favorites!

After their ceremony, we drove down to the Eastern Market in Detroit to get some wedding party and couple’s portraits by some of murals. And then we made our way over to The War Memorial for their reception. The War Memorial seriously never disappoints. We always get some beautiful portraits, and the venue is just STUNNING! You really can’t go wrong if you get married here or have your reception here.

A fun surprise that Kari’s sister, her matron of honor, did for her was getting the Ohio State University mascot, Brutus Buckeye, to make an appearance during open dancing! Kari and her twin sister had played on the women’s Ohio State University Ice Hockey Team. So seeing their old mascot at her wedding reception in Grosse Point, Michigan was so cool!
